When I was 9 years old I was driving in my cousins car , he popped in a tape Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band – This is one of the songs that started my 40 year love affair with music . It also introduced me to air guitar and air drumming, LOL.
I grew up in a house filled with music, my brother Joe is a drummer and I ended up with my 1st set at 12 years old. I didn’t go on to be John Bonham, but what it did for me was teach me true passion, not by playing, but by listening. As a child and all through life in good times and bad, music has made me feel whole.
In recovery music brings up feelings for me of peace, joy, love, and hope, it brings me to tears at times, it can also put a smile on my face, it brings me to compassion, it motivates me, it helps me to be empathetic, most importantly it centers me to the point were at times, I can even feel the presents of my God.
Through music and its awesome noise I live with a purpose today, which through it I have been given many visions throughout the years, today I’m living a dream. I’ve tried to run away from the vision a few times, but it always brings me home to the most important message, hope.
Can You Feel the Music? My answer … Yes I can, and thank you.
Love To All,
